Very Peri

Very Peri, the periwinkle violet-blue blended with red, that Panton chose as the color of the year, is a very special color for Advanced Quality.

Since the very first day that I encountered tanzanite in Arusha more than 20 years ago, I have been startled by the amazing combination of natural colors of its rough, especially the natural blue rough

This violet-blue rough, even when pale, is often lit up by an internal fire of red or pink that creates a blend of colors unlike any other.
Heating the rough to get a better blue just kills that internal fire.

But I myself, love this natural color combination as is!

And then I began to come across some other blue gems with some reddish-pink glow within them!

I found that some Spinels from Mahenge Tanzania and Vietnam, produce colors close to that, and maybe could be a fine partner to “fancy-color” sapphires of similar colors.

But my favorite color will always remain this particular color in tanzanite, even in its paler Lavender color!

When these gems are cut in our Advanced Quality cutting, the beauty of the gems’ color strikes the sky!
